Cooley Dickinson Announces September Artists, Receptions
NORTHAMPTON — Cooley Dickinson announces the following September art exhibits in its galleries at the hospital and 22 Atwood Dr., Northampton.
“Portraits and Places” by Kit Langdon, on exhibit in the hospital’s West Gallery (ground floor), is a collection of pastel paintings, including children from Northampton, and landscapes and buildings from other places the artist has experienced, such as California and New Mexico.
“Soft Focus: Recent Photography by Jim Gambaro,” which will be on display in the North Gallery on the hospital’s first floor, reflects the love this artist has for the photographic image, whether realistic or abstract. From his roots as a photojournalist, Gambaro has evolved from nicely composed scenics to a wide variety of works, both naturalistic and abstract.
Meet the artists at a reception on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the West and North Galleries at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
If you are in the waiting area on the second floor at 22 Atwood Dr. this fall, you can enjoy “Paintings From Her Gallery,” local scenes and gardens by award-winning artist Dawn Nolan Lombardi of Farmington, Conn. She has designed holiday cards for the governor of Connecticut, and ornaments and a holiday painting for the White House.
Meet the artist at a reception on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 6 to 7 p.m. at 22 Atwood Dr., second-floor waiting area. The art will be on display through November.
The art galleries are a project of the Cooley Dickinson Hospital Auxiliary, and a portion of sales supports the hospital.
