Dakin Humane Society to Present Barks & Brews at Home on Oct. 4

SPRINGFIELD — Dakin Humane Society is staging a fundraiser, Barks & Brews at Home, online on Sunday, Oct. 4 starting at 4 p.m. The pandemic ruled out an in-person Barks & Brews gathering at Fort Hill Brewery in Easthampton, which Dakin had presented in four previous years, so the organization has reconfigured the event as an online experience for participants.

Ticket holders logging in will see several video presentations, including two pet talent video contests for which they will be able to cast votes for winners. Other highlights will include the announcement of the winners of the 2020 Dakin Humane Awards, plus trivia contests. Guests can still purchase tickets for $30 until Friday, Oct. 2 by visiting dakinhumane.org. Tickets include two tokens for Fort Hill beers (for ages 21 and up) and a Barks & Brews T-shirt.

Dakin Humane Society is run entirely on donations, and this event will help offset the cost of sheltering, treating, and fostering more than 20,000 animals each year.
