‘Dash & Dine’ Raises Funds for Amherst Survival Center
AMHERST — University of Massachusetts Dining Services successfully hosted its 14th annual UMass 5K Dash & Dine on April 26. Over the past 14 years, UMass Dining has raised more than $57,000 that has been donated to the Amherst Survival Center,
Donations are still being accepted and can be made on the UMass 5K Dash & Dine website.
“We are thrilled with the outcome of this year’s 5k Dash & Dine — a huge thank you is due to all students, alumni, staff, and community members who participated in our annual event,” said Ken Toong, associate vice chancellor of Auxiliary Enterprises at the university. “Our goal was to create an exciting event that would leave a lasting impact on the community and we did just that, having raised over $7,000 for the Amherst Survival Center. Every step taken made a difference. We thank all who participated for their continued support, year after year.”
Along with media partners WWLP-TV and Rock 102, UMass Dining’s goal in hosting this race was to promote health and wellness at UMass Amherst while raising funds for the Amherst Survival Center (ASC).
