Day Brook Village to Offer Free Educational Sessions on Scams Targeting Older Adults
HOLYOKE — On Tuesday and Wednesday, April 27 and 28, Day Brook Village will offer four free educational sessions on “Top Scams Targeting Older Adults: How To Recognize And Protect Yourself From Fraud And Scams.” Each day will feature two sessions, one from noon to 1:30 p.m. (lunch will be served) and the other from 4:30 to 6 p.m. (dinner will be served).
These socially distanced outdoor sessions will be presented by Detective Jennifer Sattler and Elder Service Officer Manny Rivera from the Holyoke Police Department. Sattler and Rivera will discuss the latest scams targeting seniors, COVID-19-related fraud and scams to watch out for, how to avoid identity theft, and steps to take if you suspect you have become a victim of identity theft or fraud.
The outdoor sessions will be held in a heated tent, with seating provided that is socially distanced, and face masks will be required.
