Dr. Emily Urquhart Joins Medical Staff at Quabbin Pediatrics
WARE — Dr. Emily Urquhart joined Medical Director Dr. Scott Siege, Dr. Ramune Garniene, and nurse practitioner Denise Finn Rizzo at Baystate Medical Practice – Quabbin Pediatrics in Ware.
Urquhart received her degree in medicine from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vt., and served her internship and residency at the University of California, Davis, in Sacramento, Calif.
“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Urquhart to our pediatric practice,” Siege said. “We are excited to add her knowledge and experience to our team. She brings a passion for caring for children and a great understanding of the value of collaborative, family-centered care to our practice.”
Most recently, Urquhart provided care at Barre Pediatrics located at Central Vermont Medical Center in Barre, Vt. Prior to her medical training, she served as a volunteer in the Peace Corps in Mali, West Africa, where she focused on improving nutrition for children and partnered with local healthcare workers to treat diarrheal diseases and other infectious illnesses.
“In general practice, I enjoy working with children of all ages and all developmental abilities,” she said. “Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, working on our small farm, and doing CrossFit.”
Urquhart is currently accepting new patients. She joins the team at BMP – Quabbin Pediatrics providing a variety of services for infant, child, and adolescent healthcare, including physicals, wellness visits, vaccinations, and advice on development, nutrition, infant feeding practices, learning and behavioral issues, and adolescent issues.
