Dr. Ryan Lee Named Chief Dental Officer at Caring Health Center
SPRINGFIELD — Caring Health Center recently welcomed Dr. Ryan Lee as its new chief dental officer.
Lee holds a doctorate of dental surgery with honors from New York University’s College of Dentistry, as well as a postgraduate certificate and fellowship in dental oncology and maxillofacial prosthetics from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Serving as a major and dental officer in the Massachusetts Army National Guard’s Medical Command at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Lee gathered numerous civilian and military awards for his service. His research work has been published in journals such as Supportive Care in Cancer, Oral Oncology, and the Journal of Dental Research.
“We are excited that Dr. Lee will lead our team of dedicated dental providers. He has a proven track record in dentistry and public health in academic, hospital, and private practice and military settings,” said Tania Barber, president and CEO at Caring Health Center.
Lee said he is excited about the unique qualities of Caring Health Center. “It is a special place where top-tier health professionals treat every patient with respect, compassion, efficiency, and, of course, the latest in evidence-based medical advances. I wanted to be part of this family, this journey.
“As chief dental officer, I want our team to connect the mouth to the rest of the body,” he went on. “Why? Because great oral health leads to stronger hearts, healthier brains, and a higher quality of life. We want to not only treat dental disease, but to help our community eat better, function with dignity, and go on job interviews with a confident smile.”
Under Lee’s leadership, Caring Health Center plans to grow its patient base at its 1049 Main St. and 532 Sumner Ave. locations in Springfield. Currently overseeing 6,000 dental visits annually, the center offers a wide range of services, including examinations, cleanings, restorations, extractions, crowns, partial and complete dentures, as well as some root canals.
