Dr. Zeling Chau Joins Baystate Health Eastern Region Medical Staff
PALMER/WARE — The Baystate Health Eastern Region announced the addition of Dr. Zeling Chau, general surgeon, to its medical staff.
“Improving access to local surgical care remains one of our top priorities, and Dr. Chau is a wonderful addition to our team,” said Dr. David Maguire, chief medical officer for the Eastern Region, which includes Baystate Mary Lane Outpatient Center in Ware and Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer. “He joins us in our commitment to provide community members across the region with easy access to outstanding surgical care close to home.”
Chau received his medical degree from the New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y., and completed his residency at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, where he served as chief surgical resident and received the 2016 H. Brownell Wheeler Outstanding Resident Award. In addition, he was inducted into the Arnold Gold Humanism Honor Society, which recognizes individuals who embody the qualities of integrity, excellence, altruism, respect, and empathy, and who serve as role models, leaders, and advocates for humanism in medicine.
As a resident of Worcester County, Chau is excited about providing care in the region he knows and loves. He is fluent in English and Chinese (Wenzhou). He is accepting new patients and joins Dr. Kelly Galster and physician assistant Michael Bell in providing surgical care in Baystate Health’s Eastern Region.
