Free Surgical Weight-loss Seminar Slated for Jan. 16
SPRINGFIELD — According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, obesity in the U.S. is common, serious, and costly, affecting about 93.3 million people. Yet for many, diet and exercise are not enough to reach and maintain a healthy weight.
Pioneer Valley Surgical Associates conducts a free monthly seminar to provide patients with information about various surgical and non-surgical weight-loss options. The next informational session will be heldmon Thursday, Jan. 16 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Baystate Medical Center, Chestnut Conference Center, Room 3, 759 Chestnut St., Springfield.
Dr. Burritt Haag of Pioneer Valley Surgical Associates has extensive experience in bariatric (weight-loss) surgery, and is the only surgeon in Western Mass. who offers the complete spectrum of minimally invasive bariatric surgeries for people with a body-mass index of 35 or higher, including adjustable gastric band surgery, gastric bypass surgery, and sleeve gastrectomy surgery.
Attending one of these no-obligation educational sessions is the first step for patients interested in exploring these weight-loss options. For more information or to register for an upcoming seminar, call (413) 736-3163 or visit pvsurgical.com.
