Gándara Center Seeks Donations on #GivingTuesdayNow
WEST SPRINGFIELD — #GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place today, May 5, as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
In this time of uncertainty, donations from the community are vital to sustaining Gándara Center’s essential services. Contributions will help the agency meet the many new financial demands of this unprecedented crisis: increased support for staff, personal protective equipment, technology adaptations for virtual care, and more.
For years, generous supporters of the Gándara Center have stepped to the plate for the traditional #GivingTuesday every December. Now we are faced with a global threat that touches every person on the planet, including the people Gándara Center serves: the state’s most vulnerable populations. This agency, which provides culturally sensitive behavioral-health, substance-use, prevention, and educational services, needs donors’ help more than ever.
The community’s generosity will help keep Gándara Center strong — and on the front lines — as it provides vital services to more than 15,000 children, adults, and families each year in more than 40 locations across Massachusetts.
