Goodwill Industries Receives Grant for Food-insecurity Aid
PITTSFIELD — Goodwill Industries of the Berkshires and Southern Vermont announced it has received a $1,500 grant from Fallon Health for the nonprofit’s continued work in fighting food insecurity in the Berkshires.
Goodwill is part of a local collaborative effort that transports roughly 9,000 pounds of food every week from the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts in Chicopee to Berkshire County soup kitchens, food pantries, and a homeless shelter.
“We appreciate Fallon Health’s grant supporting Goodwill trucks and drivers who bring fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, frozen meals, meat, and non-perishable food to those most in need in our community,” said Maryam Kamangar, Goodwill’s vice president of Executive Affairs and Territory Expansion.
