Hampden DA, CrossFit Rift Valley Raise $2,400 for Foundation for TJO Animals

SPRINGFIELD — Through their Reps for Rescue fundraiser in April, Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni and Bree and Sam Wiater, owners of CrossFit Rift Valley, raised $2,400 for the Foundation for TJO Animals. The event included a series of workout sessions for all skill levels, as well as local vendors, food trucks, and raffles.

“I’ve been a member of the CrossFit Rift Valley gym for a couple years, and Bree, Sam, and I really bonded over the idea of working together on something community-focused,” Gulluni said. “Last year, we hosted Kettlebell for Kids at the gym, raising money to support the Homework House in Holyoke. This year, we turned our attention to another worthy local cause. The folks at the Foundation for TJO Animals do an incredible job helping homeless animals throughout Springfield, Holyoke, and Chicopee, and we wanted to support their efforts.”

The funds raised support much-needed veterinary care, rehabilitation, enrichment materials, and services for local animals who are on a journey to find their forever homes.

“Everyone loves animals, so it was a no-brainer for us to give back to TJO,” Bree Wiater said. “We loved having some of our regulars participating, as well as meeting new people who just want to work out and give back at the same time. We’re already looking forward to next year.”
