HCC Adds Night Nursing Program
HOLYOKE — Holyoke Community College’s Division of Continuing Education, the Division of Health, Education, and Technology, and the Nursing Department, have teamed up to provide an evening program in licensed practical nursing.
The 40-week, 32-credit evening program is slated to begin Jan. 5, 2004, with space for 24 students.
“This effort is a direct result of the documented shortage of nursing professionals in the service area, and builds on our existing relationships with the health care industry,” said Dr. David R. Bartley, president of the college.
HCC currently provides education and training through its daytime nursing associate degree and practical nurse programs. It also develops career ladders for nursing home staff through its Center for Business and Professional Development.
