HCC Welcomes Community to Open House at Center for Health Education
HOLYOKE — The public is invited to an open house celebrating the opening of Holyoke Community College’s new Center for Health Education on Friday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m.
The Center for Health Education, at 404 Jarvis Ave., Holyoke, is the new home of HCC’s Nursing and Radiologic Technology programs. The center features the latest in cutting-edge health-education technology, including state-of-the art medical-simulation labs, smart classrooms and dedicated spaces for seminars, and immunization and wellness clinics for the surrounding community.
Students will demonstrate the new technology and provide free blood-pressure screenings, wellness checks, and visual-acuity checks. Flu shots will be administered for $20 cash, pending availability and supplies.
Holyoke mayor Alex Morse, state Sen. Donald Humason, and state Rep. Aaron Vega are expected to attend, along with other local officials. The location, near the HCC campus entrance on George Frost Drive, is the former home of the Grynn & Barrett photography studios. Classes opened at the center this fall.
The open house is open to all. Refreshments will be served.
