AGAWAM — Heritage Hall East Center, a 123-bed skilled nursing center that serves the Greater Springfield community, is one of 74 long-term care facilities nationwide that has won the 2002 American Health Care Association’s National Quality Award for demonstrating a strong commitment to quality improvement.
The award is modeled after the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award, and recognizes long-term care nursing and assisted living centers that make quality a priority. The awards were presented at the association’s annual convention and exposition earlier this month in New Orleans.
Genesis ElderCare, the organization that operates not only Heritage Hall East Center but 258 skilled nursing and assisted living centers in the eastern U.S., also earned the prestigious award at eight other New England region centers. In total, Genesis centers represented 11{06cf2b9696b159f874511d23dbc893eb1ac83014175ed30550cfff22781411e5} of the award recipients while representing less than 1{06cf2b9696b159f874511d23dbc893eb1ac83014175ed30550cfff22781411e5} of the total facilities nationwide.
