Holyoke Hummus Fundraiser to Benefit River Valley Counseling Center
HOLYOKE — River Valley Counseling Center (RVCC) will be the recipient of a fundraiser at Holyoke Hummus Co. on Tuesday, May 1 in honor of Valley Gives Day. Twenty percent of all food sales will be donated to RVCC when customers ask to support the agency when ordering eat-in or take-out meals.
“We are happy to partner with River Valley Counseling Center for Valley Gives Day and help support the work they do in our community every day,” said Dawn Cordeiro, co-owner of Holyoke Hummus Co.
Rosemarie Ansel, executive director of River Valley Counseling Center, thanked Holyoke Hummus Co. for its support. “It is estimated that one in five adults in the United States experiences mental illness each year. Valley Gives Day affords us an opportunity to promote awareness about mental illness and to raise funds to support the work we do in the community. We are excited to be a part of Valley Gives Day 2018 and look forward to enjoying delicious food while supporting this worthy cause.”
Holyoke Hummus Co., located at 285 High St. in Holyoke, will be open on May 1 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Take-out cuisine can be ordered ahead of time by calling (413) 225-1755. Live, acoustic music will be provided by Meredith Robinson, a member of the band Crazy on You, between 5 and 7 p.m. She will play a mix of classic rock, folk, pop, and R&B music.
