Holyoke Medical Center Welcomes Dr. Vishal Tiwari as New Chief Medical Officer
HOLYOKE — Spiros Hatiras, president and CEO of Holyoke Medical Center (HMC) and Valley Health Systems, announced that Dr. Vishal Tiwari is the new chief medical officer at Holyoke Medical Center.
“I am excited to have joined this team, working with and leading many well-respected physicians and colleagues,” Tiwari said. “I have had working relationships with several members of the HMC medical staff in the past. I look forward to further incorporating best practices to continue delivering the highest quality of care to the patients we serve in the Greater Holyoke community.”
Before joining Holyoke Medical Center, Tiwari was most recently with Steward Health in the suburbs of Boston. There, he oversaw several hospitals as vice president of Medical Affairs and regional medical director. In addition, he served more than a decade at Baystate Health and Health New England as medical director and senior medical director. He also served as the market medical director at Curana Health, a nationwide post-rehab company.
Tiwari received his medical degree from S.N. Medical College in India with a bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery degree. He completed a post-graduate residency training at Unity Health System in Rochester, N.Y, then went on to receive a master’s in health care delivery science degree from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and the Geisel School of Medicine, a joint program at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.
Tiwari’s focus has been building a strong, cross-functional, collaborative team with exceptional leadership skills to enhance working relationships with hospital staff, while ensuring the highest standards of service quality for patients.
