Holyoke Works Announces New Location for Nursing Assistant Program
HOLYOKE — Larry Bay, executive director of Holyoke Works; Kathleen Anderson, president of the Greater Holyoke Chamber of Commerce; and Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse invite the public to a ribbon cutting at the new location for the Holyoke Works Nursing Program at Mont Marie Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on 36 Lower Westfield Road in Holyoke.
The ribbon cutting will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17. The event is an opportunity to meet future nursing students, healthcare professionals, and community leaders.
As a Holyoke Chamber Centennial Foundation workforce-development program, Holyoke Works has been providing adult education and job training for more than 10 years. Among its program offerings is a Nursing Assistant program that has provided training and job placement to 50 students per year.
“The effectiveness of the program has been demonstrated through the 90{06cf2b9696b159f874511d23dbc893eb1ac83014175ed30550cfff22781411e5} job placement rate of its students who enter the healthcare field with an opportunity to support their families and, working with Holyoke Works staff, mapping continued professional-development plans within the healthcare sector,” Bay said.
