Hospice Meadows Run/Walk Benefits Cooley Dickinson VNA & Hospice
NORTHAMPTON — Cooley Dickinson VNA & Hospice announced the fifth annual Hospice Meadows Run 5K road race and two-mile walk on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 9 a.m. at the Three County Fairgrounds in Northampton.
This event supports two important programs at Cooley Dickinson VNA & Hospice: the hospice program and the Garden: a Center for Grieving Children and Teens. These programs depend greatly on the generosity of families, friends, and business to help support their services.
The Cooley Dickinson hospice team cares for terminally ill patients and their families. Their goal is to improve quality of living during the final stage of life. The hospice team includes everyone from medical experts to therapeutic musicians, coordinating care for mind, body, and spirit.
The Garden offers support to children and teens ages 5-18, and their families, after the death of a loved one. Trained volunteers facilitate activities and discussion groups to help young people and their families begin the healing process.
“Our top priority is to be here for our community, our patients, and their families when they need us most,” said Cooley Dickinson VNA & Hospice Executive Director Priscilla Ross. “This important event raises essential funds and awareness to bring medical and well-being services to our community.”
The Hospice Meadows Run is an out-and-back course lined with memorial signs through the Northampton Meadows. It begins at the Three County Fairgrounds on 54 Fair St. Register online at runreg.com until Thursday, Sept. 22 at 5 p.m. Participants may also register the day of the event starting at 8 a.m.
