Hospice of the Fisher Home Announces New Tagline

AMHERST — Maria Rivera, executive director of Hospice of the Fisher Home, announced that the hospice has adopted a new tagline, “Care & Compassion. In Your Home or Ours.”

Developed with the Fisher’s Home’s marketing agency, Maureen Sullivan Media, the tagline was created to raise awareness that the Fisher Home not only offers hospice care at its nine-bed residence at 1165 North Pleasant St. in Amherst, but also provides services in cities and towns throughout Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin counties.

The community care team, which includes nurses, CNAs, spiritual and bereavement counselors, a social worker, and a medical director, provides care in patients’ homes, assisted-living facilities, skilled-nursing facilities, or wherever the patient may live. It offers a vast array of support services to patients and their loved ones, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Rivera said the Fisher Home’s goal is to offer end-of-life care that is meaningful, comfortable, and customized for each person. “We help people with terminal illnesses and their families plan for the end-of-life journey they want — we meet them where they are.”

The Hospice of Fisher Home is an independent, nonprofit hospice, the only one of its kind in Western Mass. Its hospice program has served more than 1,500 individuals and their families since opening its doors in 2006.
