Hospice of the Fisher Home to Launch Annual Appeal at Garden Party on July 27
AMHERST — Hospice of the Fisher Home, the only independent, nonprofit hospice in Western Mass., will host a garden party at its residence and headquarters in Amherst on Thursday, July 27 from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
At the event, Executive Director Maria Rivera will launch the Fisher Home’s annual campaign to raise $500,000, much of which is needed for critical infrastructure repairs at the hospice’s nine-bed residence at 1165 North Pleasant St. in Amherst.
The campaign’s theme, “Keep Us Rooted,” reflects the Fisher Home’s deep roots in the community and the need to raise the funds necessary to maintain the residence as an important local resource for compassionate, specialized end-of-life care.
“At Hospice of the Fisher Home, a focus on quality of life guides everything we do to support patients and their families,” Rivera said. “Managing terminal illness can feel overwhelming. Our hospice-care team provides support to patients and their families through a delicate and challenging time using a comprehensive care model. We need to raise funds so that we can continue to provide this exceptional support for generations to come.”
Guests who attend the garden party will meet staff from the Fisher Home as well as board members and volunteers to learn more about the mission of the Fisher Home to provide comprehensive and supportive end-of-life care to individuals and their families.
Refreshments and light snacks will be served while guests enjoy live jazz music. There is no cost to attend, but donations will be gratefully accepted.
