Integrated Orthopedic Physical Therapy to Cut Ribbon Aug. 14
AMHERST — The Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting for one of the area’s newest businesses, Integrated Orthopedic Physical Therapy (IOPT), on Friday, August 14 at noon. The event will be held at the practice’s new facility located at 334 College St.
The mission of IOPT is to provide integrated and comprehensive physical-therapy care, with personal and compassionate treatment. Services include pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, joint-replacement treatment, sports-injury recovery, and spine treatment.
IOPT co-owner Kathleen McCauley graduated in 2004 with a master’s degree in physical therapy from Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids, Mich. “Joining the Amherst chamber has been a terrific experience,” she said. “Being connected to others in the community so quickly is a valuable part of our business plan.”
Co-owner Joel Flecha graduated in 2010 with a master’s degree in physical therapy from American International College in Springfield. He draws from his experiences working in orthopedic, sports-medicine, and rehabilitation settings to develop evidence-based treatments in a unique program for each of his patients. He has a passion for vestibular and concussion rehabilitation, and is also a manual therapist and incorporates those skills into his treatment programs for patients with a wide range of conditions. He is also fluent in Spanish.
According to Amherst Area Chamber Executive Director Don Courtemanche, “Kathleen and Joel have a terrific business, and we look forward to helping them grow here in Amherst. It has already been a treat to get to know them and the services that they provide.”
