Jacob’s Journey Pageant to Benefit Families Affected by SUDC

WESTFIELD — Local families, community members, and supporters are invited to attend the 2026 Jacob’s Journey Pageant on Saturday, May 2 at 11 a.m. at Westfield Technical Academy, a public event organized to support families affected by sudden unexplained death in childhood (SUDC).

Hosted by community advocate Jenniffer Fanska, the Jacob’s Journey Pageant brings together participants of all ages for a day of encouragement, confidence building, and family-friendly fun while highlighting the strength and resilience of children and families living with profound loss. Funds raised through the event will benefit the SUDC Foundation, the only organization worldwide whose purpose is to raise awareness, fund research, and serve families and professionals affected by sudden unexplained death in childhood.

“Our goal is to remember and honor the children we have lost and surround their families with practical support and love from the community,” Fanska said. “Every contestant, sponsor, and audience member plays a role in making sure no family walks this journey alone.”

The 2026 Jacob’s Journey Pageant will feature age divisions for all ages, optional themed wear, and a variety of non-competitive recognition for courage, kindness, and community spirit. Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to get involved through sponsorships, prize donations, and volunteer support, helping the SUDC Foundation continue providing its services at no cost to the families it serves.

Pre-registration is encouraged as space may be limited. Interested families, potential sponsors, and volunteers can click here to visit the Facebook event page for the 2026 Jacob’s Journey Pageant for entry information, guidelines, and updates.
