Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts to Host Workshop on Senior-living Decisions
SPRINGFIELD — Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts (JFS) will host a workshop, “Home Your Own Way: Should I Stay or Should I Go?” on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
This is a question many begin to ask themselves as they grow older: should I stay in my longtime home or choose another place in which to age? This workshop will help attendees make a plan to start the conversation about where they or a senior loved one would like to age; discover the home pitfalls that could jeopardize someone’s safety and independence; identify the remodeling that could assist someone in the home and keep that individual safer; and understand the value of cultivating and maintaining human touch.
The workshop will be held at the JFS Community Room, 1160 Dickinson St., Springfield (the parking lot is on the Converse Street side). The program is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served. RSVP online at www.jfswm.org or call (413) 737-2601.
