Johnson Memorial Hospital Colleagues Participate in Gift Assistance Program
STAFFORD SPRINGS, Conn. — In what has become a holiday tradition, colleagues throughout Johnson Memorial Hospital offered support to the 2023 Stafford Holiday Gift Assistance Program by donating four carloads of new, unwrapped toys. The toy collection was organized by Sue Downs, Engineering coordinator, who provided a list of requested items for colleagues to pick from when making their donations.
Colleagues donated a variety of toys, including LEGO, dolls, trucks, Pokémon trading cards, art supplies, and Squishmallows. Johnson’s medical staff also got in on the fun by donating more than 80 Big Y gift cards with a total value of $2,000.
“Johnson colleagues look forward to this event every year, and their generosity is heartwarming,” Downs said. “We are also appreciative of the medical staff for their significant donation.”
The Stafford Holiday Gift Assistance Program assists income eligible Stafford households with holiday gifts for children birth through age 17. The program is a collaborative effort by Stafford Social Services, Stafford Family Resource Center, Stafford Childhood Collaborative, the First Selectman’s Office, and the Stafford Resident Trooper’s Office.
