Johnson Memorial Hospital Named Among Connecticut’s Top Three for Patient Experience

STAFFORD, Conn. — Johnson Memorial Hospital announced it has been named among the top three hospitals in Connecticut for patient experience by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). The ranking is the result of patient answers to questions about overall hospital performance during their stay. The patient-experience survey was taken by patients who were discharged from Johnson in 2023, the most recent survey results available.

At the same time, Johnson has received a 4-Star rating from CMS in a survey that measures specific aspects of hospital care. Recently discharged patients were asked about important topics like how well nurses and doctors communicated, how responsive hospital staff were to their needs, and the cleanliness and quietness of the hospital environment. The star ratings come from a patient-experience care survey called the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey.

“At Johnson Memorial Hospital, our clinical colleagues and support staff work as a team to put our patients at the center of everything we do,” said Dr. Robert Roose, president of Johnson Memorial Hospital and Mercy Medical Center. “This recognition from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid clearly shows the success of our ongoing efforts to deliver first-rate care and service excellence.”
