Karen Johnson Named VP Of HR For Jewish Geriatric Services
LONGMEADOW — Karen L. Johnson, SHRP, CPM has been named vice president of Human Resources for Jewish Geriatric Services (JGS), the Longmeadow-based health care and residential system serving seniors and their families.
Johnson, who has more than 25 years of high level experience in the health care, financial, and retailing fields, will lead the human resources function at JGS, which serves nearly 500 employees at facilities that include the Julian J. Leavitt Family Jewish Nursing Home, Spectrum Home Health Care. Ruth’s House, JGS Family Medical Care, Wernick Adult Day Health Care Center, and Genesis House.
Prior to joining JGS, Johnson was a human resources consultant working for leading firms in the health care field. Before that, she worked for more than 10 years for CIGNA Healthcare, where she held positions of project manager/change management leader at its Bloomfield, Conn. site, and regional human resources director at its Columbus, Ohio headquarters.
Before that, she was vice president and regional manager of Human Resources for Chase Bank of Ohio and also worked as senior vice president, Human Resources and Operations for Investor Savings Bank in Columbus.
