Kimball Farms Life Care to Host Author Annette Berkovits
LENOX — Annette Berkovits, a part-time resident of the Berkshires, will discuss her newest book, Confessions of an Accidental Zoo Curator, on Friday, Sept. 22 at 3 p.m. at Kimball Farms Lifecare in Lenox. Berkovits will read excerpts, relate her own story, and offer a slideshow.
Berkovits was born in Kyrgyzstan and grew up in post-war Poland and the fledgling state of Israel before coming to America at age 16. In her three-decade career with the Wildlife Conservation Society in New York, she spearheaded the institution’s nationwide and worldwide science-education programs. Her achievements include the first-ever agreement to bring environmental education to China’s schools. The National Science Foundation has recognized her outstanding leadership in the field.
Refreshments will be served. Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP to Kimball Farms at (413) 637-7000 by Friday, Sept. 15.
