Landmark to Present Program on OT in Geriatric Psychiatric Units
WEST SPRINGFIELD — Social workers, nurses, and the public are invited to attend Landmark at Monastery Heights’ GEMS program, “Philosophy for Inpatient Psychiatry” on Wednesday, March 30 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m.
The program will help develop a better understanding of the role of occupational therapy in a geriatric psychiatric unit. A description of the evaluation process; treatment approaches, including groups and one-to-one sessions; and discharge carryover will be included. The presentation will also touch on the experience of staff training using the GEMS model. Social workers and nurses will earn one CEU credit for this program.
