Leavitt Family Jewish Home to Hold Parkinson’s Support Groups in June and July

LONGMEADOW — Leavitt Family Jewish Home, located on the JGS Lifecare campus and an affiliate of Legacy Lifecare, will hold specialized Parkinson’s support groups for area residents and their families on Monday, June 9 and Monday, July 7. Both sessions will be held at 1 p.m. at Leavitt Family Jewish Home on the JGS Lifecare campus.

Titled Wellness Warriors, the support group will be led by Lisa Kern of Core Rehab.The session focuses upon the realities of a Parkinson’s diagnosis; how to empower and inspire individuals with Parkinson’s through education, exercise, and emotional support; as well as strategies to provide a supportive community for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease, their caregivers, and their loved ones.

Admission is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Light refreshments will be served.
