Let’s Dance! Fundraiser to Support Enrichment Programs for People with Disabilities
HADLEY — On Nov. 9, the stars of Western Mass. will take to the dance floor at the Sheraton Springfield for the third annual Let’s Dance! fundraiser. This special event, starting at 6:30 p.m., benefits Pathlight, which serves people with developmental or intellectual disabilities throughout Massachusetts.
Hosted by comedian and motivational speaker Kelsey Flynn, Let’s Dance! is similar to Dancing with the Stars, only in this case the stars are people with disabilities served by Pathlight. The Pathlight dancers are paired with noted community members, including Greenfield Community College President Yves Salomon-Fernandez, chiropractic physician Marty Walder, and Dowd Agencies President and CEO John Dowd.
The 11 dance teams have been working hard since the summer with a dance instructor to create a unique routine tailored to their song choice and personal style. There will be rockabilly, pop, salsa, and musical theater. Before they take the stage on Nov. 9, the public can cast their votes for their favorite dance team online at pathlightgroup.org, where one $10 donation is equal to one vote.
Pathlight is a nonprofit serving children, teens, and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities throughout Western Mass. To learn more about Pathlight or to purchase tickets to Let’s Dance!, visit www.pathlightgroup.org or call (413) 585-8010. A $70 ticket guarantees an evening of entertainment, hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar. A limited number of VIP tickets are also available.
