Loomis Communities Donates Supplies, Monetary Donations to Duggan Academy
SPRINGFIELD — Residents and staff of Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing, a member of the Loomis Communities, held a school-supply drive over the summer to collect supplies and monetary donations for John J. Duggan Academy in Springfield, and have announced donations of hundreds of supplies along with $770 to the school to start off the school year.
The retirement community, located less than a mile down the road from Duggan Academy, delivered hundreds of supplies, including essentials such as pencils, markers, notebooks, and folders; art supplies; musical accessories such as drumsticks; cleaning supplies; and more. The school also donated $770 to Duggan, which serves approximately 800 students in grades 6 through 12.
The supply drive was organized by Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing resident Maggie Horn along with Resident Engagement Director Jamie Piantek Dube. They plan to continue this partnership with Duggan Academy in the years to come.
