Loomis Communities to Host Craft Fairs on Oct. 19

SPRINGFIELD — Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing in Springfield and Loomis Village in South Hadley, both members of the Loomis Communities, will hold craft fairs on their campuses on Saturday, Oct. 19, both with free admission and open to the public. The Loomis Lakeside fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 807 Wilbraham Road in Springfield, and the Loomis Village fair will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at 20 Bayon Dr., South Hadley.

The Loomis Lakeside craft fair will feature more than 20 vendors, a mix of resident and outside crafters. Free cider and donuts will be available to attendees, and tours of the facilities will be available. Proceeds from the fair will go to the Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing Philanthropic Fund, which supports programming and continuing education.

The Loomis Village craft fair will feature more than 30 crafters, all residents of the retirement community, with all items handmade or refurbished by residents. Items for sale will include wood pens, ornaments, stained glass, knitted and quilted items, framed photographs, notecards, paintings, aprons, fishing lures, and jewelry. The event will also feature a silent auction and light refreshments available for purchase. Cash or checks will be accepted. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local charities.
