Loomis Employees Attend Program

AMHERST — Ten managers of the Loomis Communities, with campuses in South Hadley, Holyoke, and Amherst, recently graduated from a weeklong training program in Sherburne, N.Y., and became Certified Eden Associates.
The Eden Alternative is a concept that began as an operational model to combat the “institutional” medical model that exists in most long-term care facilities.
The theory focuses on changing the culture of nursing homes by infusing them with an environment rich in animals, plants, and children working together with the residential elders.
