M.L. Schmitt Raises More Than $39,300 with Charity Golf Tournament
SPRINGFIELD — M.L. Schmitt Inc. hosted a charity golf tournament at Springfield Country Club on Sept. 30 to raise funds and give back to the community.
Eighty-six golfers enjoyed an 18-hole scramble under sunny skies and concluded their evening with dinner and a brief presentation. Because of the generosity of its sponsors, M.L. Schmitt’s charity golf tournament raised $39,300. The proceeds were split evenly between Project New Hope, Shriners Children’s New England, and Shriners Children’s Boston, which each received a $13,100 donation.
“Last year we celebrated our 100th anniversary with a charity golf event,” said Peter Coppez, president of M.L. Schmitt Inc. “Because it was so successful, we wanted to give back to the community again. We were humbled by our generous sponsors and thrilled to make our donations.”
Added Jean Pierre Crevier, vice president of M.L. Schmitt Inc., “one of the strengths of our company is the relationships that we have forged with both our vending partners and our customers. Without them, this event would not have been successful. We are grateful for the support.”
M.L. Schmitt Inc. has projects throughout the Commonwealth and wanted to donate to veterans and children across Massachusetts.
“On behalf of everyone at Shriners Children’s New England, we are deeply grateful for the incredible generosity shown by M.L. Schmitt Inc. and their community,” said Kerri-Lynn Tichy, senior director of Philanthropy. “This donation will help us continue to provide world-class care to children in need, regardless of their family’s ability to pay or insurance status. It’s inspiring to see how their commitment to giving back positively impacts our community, and we are honored to be part of this meaningful partnership. Together, we are making a lasting difference in the lives of the children and families we serve.”
Bill Moore, executive director of Project New Hope, said M.L. Schmitt’s sponsorship has made a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans and their families, as well as the children cared for by Shriners Children’s.
“A heartfelt thank you to M.L. Schmitt for sponsoring this event, and to all the donors and players who made it possible,” he said. “Your commitment to our cause helps us continue our mission of serving those who have served our country.”
