PITTSFIELD — Prakash Malkani, M.D. has been named chairman of the Radiology Department at Berkshire Medical Center and Fairview Hospital.
A certified neuroradiologist, Malkani will provide clinical leadership for the department and a skilled team of radiologists, Advanced Berkshire Medical Imaging, P.C.
Malkani joins Berkshire Health Systems following a five-year tenure as chairman of the Department of Clinical Services and chairman of the Department of Radiology for Covenant HealthCare System, the sixth-largest health system in Michigan. Before joining Covenant, Malkani was chairman of the Department of Radiology for the premier health system in Bombay, India, which was in partnership with Massachusetts General Hospital.
“Our group’s goal in coming to Berkshire County is to create a highly specialized radiology department that focuses on the patient,” he said. “BHS provides cutting-edge clinical services usually found only in larger hospitals serving metropolitan areas.”
Malkani served residencies at New York Medical College and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where he served his internship and received his medical degree. He served a fellowship in Neuroradiology at New York Medical College. Board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, he also holds a Certification of Additional Qualification (CAQ) in Neuroradiology. |
