Massachusetts Ranks Fifth for Best Dental Health Nationwide
WASHINGTON, D.C. — According to research by Celebrate Dental and Braces, using data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Lung Assoc., Massachusetts ranks fifth for best dental health nationwide.
The metrics examined included the percentage of adults who visited a dentist in the past year, the adult smoking rate, and the percentage of the population who binge drink.
The state with the best dental care is Connecticut. It was reported that 73.2% of the population attended the dentist in 2020. Additionally, Connecticut has fluoridated 90.4% of public water systems.
Rounding out the top five are Utah, Maryland, Hawaii, and Massachusetts. The Bay State received the highest score in the U.S. for the number of dentists, with 84 per 100,000 people. In addition, 73.3% of Bay Staters visited the dentist in 2020.
