SPRINGFIELD — Young Hee Kim, Clinical Nutrition Manager at Mercy Medical Center, has been selected by the Nestle Nutrition Institute as a 2006 Nutrition Ambassador. As a result of her selection, Kim has been awarded a scholarship to attend the Nestle Clinical Nutrition Course in Glion, Switzerland this month.
The course is aimed at giving international nutrition experts the opportunity to explore recent scientific advances in the field of nutrition, as well as effective ways to apply them in a clinical setting.
The Nutrition Ambassador Program was developed by the Nestle Nutrition Institute to recognize nutritional science professionals who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to clinical nutrition and its practical application. Kim’s selection follows a rigorous screening process in which applicants from around the nation wrote essays that outlined how they would improve the role of the dietitian in the nutrition-support practice.
“Nestle has provided me with an incredible opportunity,” says Kim. “I am honored and humbled at the chance to attend the advanced course. I look forward to sharing the knowledge I gain from the experience with my fellow dietitians, so that we may continue to make a difference in the lives of our patients.” |
