Mercy Medical Center to Host Stop the Bleed Training Event on Oct. 4

SPRINGFIELD — Mercy Medical Center will hold a Stop the Bleed training event on Friday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot outside the Emergency Department at Mercy Medical Center. The Mercy Emergency Department is located at the rear entrance at 300 Stafford St. This training event is free and open to the public.

Since the American College of Surgeons launched the Stop the Bleed initiative in 2017, about 4 million people have been taught basic bleeding-control techniques. Learning to stop the bleed is a life-saving skill, as the number-one cause of preventable death after injury is bleeding.
