MHA Voted Best Nonprofit and Best Place to Work for Third Consecutive Year
SPRINGFIELD — The Mental Health Assoc. (MHA) has been voted #1 in Reader Raves 2021 in two key categories: Best Nonprofit and Best Place to Work. This is the third consecutive year MHA has been voted first in both categories. Reader Raves is an annual poll of Western Mass. residents by MassLive and the Republican.
“As the CEO of this organization, it is tremendously fulfilling to be recognized by members of our community as the Best Nonprofit and Best Place to Work for the third consecutive year,” said Cheryl Fasano, president and CEO of MHA Inc. “MHA has always been an agency of firsts. We were first to transition people away from institutions to a life in our community and first to operate a residential mental-health program for homeless women in Springfield. We were first to launch the Tenancy Preservation Program, now a model for the nation. We were first in Western Mass. with a residential program for LGBTQ+ persons in recovery. MHA is also a first step for folks to start talking about emotional health and wellness, a first step forward for someone with an acquired brain injury to live in a new way, and a first line of care for persons with intellectual disabilities to live their best life in the community. Being voted #1 in Reader Raves — in two categories, three years running — reflects extremely well on all of us at MHA. I’m proud of our team and thankful they choose to make a career with us serving others.”
