Michael J. Dias Foundation Kicks Off Campaign to Establish Women’s Sober Home
LUDLOW — The Michael J. Dias Foundation announced the kickoff event for a capital campaign supporting the purchase and establishment of a women’s sober home. This event will be held on Wednesday, June 12 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow.
Dr. Megan Miller from Baystate Health will chair the campaign. She is an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UMass Chan Medical School – Baystate and a board-certified addiction medicine specialist. She has been a driving force in the field, notably as the co-chair of the Hampden County Perinatal Collaborative for pregnant people with opioid-use disorders, and the leader of quality-improvement efforts for this population at Baystate Medical Center. Her contributions to women’s health were recently recognized with the Massachusetts Medical Society’s Women’s Health Award.
The capital campaign aims to raise $500,000 toward creating a safe and supportive environment for women in recovery. The public is invited to attend the kickoff event and learn more about the foundation’s initiatives, meet Miller, and contribute to a cause that is making a tangible difference in the lives of many.
