Mike Trombley, Former MLB Player, to Speak about Skin Cancer at Babe Ruth Tournament Banquet
WESTFIELD — Former major league baseball player Mike Trombley will discus his experiences in the MLB, and with battling skin cancer in a talk before 14-year-old players of the New England Regional Babe Ruth Tournament on July 25 at 6:15 p.m. at Scanlon Hall on the campus of Westfield State University. Trombley is a Springfield native who played baseball for Duke in college and eventually went on to pitch for the Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, and Los Angeles Dodgers. He also battled with basal cell carcinoma, having surgery under his right eye to remove the growth. This experience has made Trombley a sought-after public speaker on behalf of skin cancer awareness and prevention. Currently a managing partner and financial advisor at Trombley Associates, Trombley combines his professional knowledge with each individual client’s needs in order to recommend appropriate investments.
