MiraVista Expands Bed Capacity to 88 for Adults and Adolescents
HOLYOKE — MiraVista Behavioral Health Center announced the expansion of its bed capacity, now offering a total of 88 beds dedicated to the mental healthcare and treatment of both adults and adolescents. This significant increase in capacity underscores MiraVista’s commitment to addressing the growing need for comprehensive mental-health services in its local community and across the Commonwealth.
The psychiatric hospital opened additional adult beds earlier this year with the current expansion, supported by recently hired medical staff including nurses and mental-health technicians, helping to further ensure the delivery of timely and effective care to more individuals. It aligns with MiraVista’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality behavioral-health services.
“We are excited to expand our facilities and increase our capacity to serve more individuals in need of mental healthcare,” said Shelley Zimmerman, hospital administrator at MiraVista. “This expansion is a crucial step in our ongoing efforts to meet the rising demand for mental-health services and provide the necessary support for our patients and their families.
“MiraVista Behavioral Health Center has been at the forefront of mental healthcare, offering a range of services including inpatient care and outpatient substance-use programming,” she added. “The addition of these new beds will enhance our ability to deliver personalized, patient-centered care and improve outcomes for those faced with mental-health challenges.”
As part of its ongoing commitment to the community, MiraVista continues to work closely with local organizations, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to ensure that its services, including its recently launched direct admission process, are accessible to everyone who needs them. The expansion and recent renovation of its adolescent unit for those ages 13 to 17 (18 if still attending high school) is a testament to the organization’s dedication to creating a healthier, more resilient community.
