MiraVista Welcomes Evangeline Murray as Associate Chief Nursing Officer
HOLYOKE — Evangeline Murray, who most recently served as director of Nursing Operations at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center, has been appointed associate chief Nursing officer at MiraVista Behavioral Health Center.
Murray brings extensive experience in mental-health services, with a focus on both adult and adolescent care. She holds a master’s degree in nursing clinical leadership from Saint Xavier University in Chicago, is a certified clinical nurse leader, and is an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Assoc.
“We are pleased to welcome Evangeline to our senior leadership team,” said Shelley Zimmerman, MiraVista’s hospital administrator. “Her professional background includes managing nursing operations in hospital settings and overseeing the delivery of both inpatient and outpatient behavioral-health services. Her expertise in staff education and regulatory compliance will be invaluable as we continue to enhance the quality of care we provide to our statewide community.”
Before her tenure at Albany Medical, Murray was the administrative director of the Mental Health Service Line at Ellis Medicine in Schenectady, N.Y. There, she expanded the child and adolescent mental-health clinic, secured more than $2.7 million in grants and donations to enhance mental-health services, and established a specialist role to provide emotional support to colleagues within mental-health services.
Her previous roles at Ellis Medicine included nurse manager in Outpatient Mental Health, patient care manager for Inpatient Adult, Adolescent, and Crisis Mental Health Services, and registered nurse in those same areas. Earlier in her career, she worked as a registered nurse in Correctional Medical Care at the Albany County and Schenectady County Correctional Facilities.
“I am honored to be part of MiraVista Behavioral Health Center, an organization known for its compassionate and comprehensive care,” Murray said. “The opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team, serving individuals in crisis and supporting their mental-health journey, is incredibly rewarding. I am eager to contribute to the continued growth and success of our services.”
