BURLINGTON — The Mass. Hospital Assoc. and Boston Works are attacking head-on the widely publicized nursing shortage by establishing scholarship programs that will cultivate, encourage, and support academic faculty in nursing and the workforce for allied health.
BostonWorks has established a $20,000 scholarship to be given to a nurse selected by the MHA who is currently enrolled in a graduate-level program, who has the intention of becoming a full-or part-time nursing faculty member upon completion. The second scholarship, a $2,000 award sponsored by the MHA and the Mass. Healthcare Human Resources Assoc., will be given to an individual teaching health care in the allied health field. Both scholarships will be awarded based on character, merit, financial need, and references.
The deadline to apply for the scholarships is 4 p.m. on April 10.
