NSSLHA Chapter at Elms College Awarded 2019 Gold Chapter Honors
CHICOPEE — The National Student Speech Language Hearing Assoc. (NSSLHA) has awarded the NSSLHA chapter at Elms College 2019 Gold Chapter honors.
Efforts made by the NSSLHA chapter at Elms College helped the national NSSLHA body increase awareness of communication sciences and disorders (CSD) on more than 100 local college campuses and communities across the country, increase advocacy efforts by sending more than 10,000 letters to state and federal legislators, and provide scholarships to students in CSD programs by contributing to a donation of more than $18,000 to the ASHFoundation’s NSSLHA Scholarship.
Elms College NSSLHA chapter co-advisors Dr. Brittney Carlson and Professor Mary Deyo said they are proud of the hard work students put into earning this honor, particularly their dedication to community outreach, in keeping with the spirit of the Elms College mission and core values.
National NSSLHA chapter honors are awarded to affiliated NSSLHA chapters that demonstrate an outstanding effort to support NSSLHA’s mission to inspire, empower, and support students in communication sciences and disorders programs.
