O’Connell Care at Home to Relocate Office, Expand Services
HOLYOKE — O’Connell Care at Home announced an agreement to relocate the business’ corporate office to the Holyoke Transportation Center at 206 Maple St. In addition to the new corporate office, O’Connell announced a collaborative partnership with Holyoke Community College, which will facilitate recruitment and a hiring center.
The partnership will promote skills training and employment of Holyoke Community College’s adult-workforce learners through the Picknelly Adult and Family Education Center. The announcement comes on the heels of business expansion throughout Western Mass., first with a satellite office in South Deerfield and now the Workforce Training and Professional Development Center in Springfield.
“It is important to me that we continue to operate the business in Holyoke,” said founder and President Fran O’Connell. “Holyoke has been our home since the business was founded in 1987, more than 28 years ago.”
The relocation of the corporate office is on target with O’Connell Care at Home’s expansion plans and will allow for the business to significantly enhance an already advanced training program. As the business continues to grow, O’Connell is committed to fostering ongoing partnerships in all the communities it serves.
“We are very excited about a new partnership with Springfield Technical Community College’s Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide programs, which are located directly across the street from the new training facility,” said Chief Operating Officer Danielle Lord. The Workforce Training and Professional Development Center is located in the Springfield Technology Park, One Federal St., adjacent to STCC.
Added O’Connell, “expanding our offices into the communities we serve increases our accessibility as both an employer and as a provider of home care. Partnering with local educators will positively impact our economy by retaining our skilled workforce through local employment opportunities, enhancing continued education for the existing workforce, and increasing the quality of care for those we serve.”
