More than 500 area residents turned out for the American Cancer Society’s Omar T. Pace, MD Gala at the MassMutual Center in Springfield on May 13. The event, which raised $125,000 to benefit ACS programs and services featured a number of awards, including the Omar T. Pace MD Award, presented to Sr. Mary Caritas, SP, former president of Mercy Hospital, seen above with her award. At right, top, David Glidden, event co-chair and regional president of TD Banknorth, presents the society’s Excalibur Award, given for continued support of the ACS’s mission, to Dale Allen, assistant to the president of Springfield College. At right, below, Gary Fialky, event co-chair presents an Excalibur Award to Jack Sarat, president Ford.
