Palmer Resident Celebrates New Year with Hearing Aid
PALMER — The Audiology Honor Fund at Wing Memorial Hospital & Medical Centers has announced that a Palmer resident has been selected to receive funds toward the purchase of a hearing aid.
“I am very honored and pleased to be the first recipient of funds from the Audiology Honor Fund,” the first recipient said. “The hearing aid has made a big difference in my life, and I would urge anyone in need of a hearing aid to apply to the Honor Fund.”
An anonymous donor established the Audiology Honor Fund at Wing Memorial to help individuals purchase a hearing aid. Applicants must fill out a short application and meet certain criteria in order to obtain funding from the Audiology Honor Fund. Among those requirements, the applicant must have no insurance that covers hearing aids, must have an income of less than 150{06cf2b9696b159f874511d23dbc893eb1ac83014175ed30550cfff22781411e5} of the federal poverty level, and must be serious about wearing a hearing aid.
Applications are available at the main lobby of the hospital for anyone wishing to receive funding in 2009.
