The American Cancer Society (ACS) is currently hosting a photo exhibit titled Models of Life at the Valley Photographic Center in downtown Springfield. The show includes photos, artwork, and poetry by breast cancer survivors, and all of the photos on display, taken by photographers at both the amateur and professional level, depict survivors. The ACS hosted a reception and informational session on Oct. 12 at the center, offering free Wal-Mart gift cards to women 40 or older who scheduled mammograms at the event, and representatives from Baystate Medical Center’s Spirit of Women program were also on hand to offer information and to sign up new members. The exhibit will remain at the Valley Photo Center at 1500 Main St. until Nov. 7.
