Porchlight, State Legislator Work Together to Raise VNA Awareness
LEE — As November was National Home Health Care & Hospice Month, state Rep. Tricia Farley-Bouvier assisted Porchlight VNA/Home Care in raising awareness of assistances provided through visiting-nurse associations and home-health agencies by accompanying Porchlight staff on a scheduled visit to a patient home, while the patient’s nurse, Sandy Mayer, provided his home healthcare.
“We are very proud of the work performed by Porchlight, along with our other member agencies all over Massachusetts that enable patients to remain in the most comfortable and familiar setting: their own homes,” said Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts Executive Director Patricia Kelleher.
Farley-Bouvier and Porchlight joined counterparts across the state to raise awareness of home-health services that help keep people healthy and independent. The nearly 200 member agencies of the Home Care Alliance provide more than 5 million home-care visits each year to approximately 175,000 elderly, mentally ill, and otherwise infirm Massachusetts residents.
